What’s on the PP stereo?

It’s last thing on a Friday and DJ PP has put together a playlist as perfectly balanced as the weather for the May Day bank holiday. This is what we’ve been listening to in PPHQ this week…

Plus there were two pretty unmissable programmes from Annie Mac this week which have been making their way around the office – catch Prince: A Tribute and the Beyoncé ‘Lemonade’ Listening Party on BBC iPlayer.

“The other night I went to a club and I watched a DJ control an entire room. Even politicians can’t do that.” - Prince

We can’t wait to introduce them to you all, right now all you need to know is that they are bloomin’ marvellous. In fact one of them has set the bar super high with this 2011 Frank Ocean classic….

What’s on the PP stereo

We’ve mostly got quite good taste in music at PPHQ and enjoy sharing our old faves and new discoveries with you every Friday. This week someone has let the side down. Badly. Plumbing the depths of a new low for the PP stereo, this week we have been subjected to the new one from Craig David which sounds exactly like all the old ones from Craig David and features Craig David and his new friend Big Narstie wooing the ladies with their drinking prowess and ability to rhyme ‘blue jeans’ with ‘blue jeans’.

Sorry. We’ll try harder next week.

The rest of the playlist is good mind you.

Happy weekend.

We’re giving Spotify a rest for this week’s new music round-up and sharing some links instead.

First up – contain yourselves – this is brand new from Kate Tempest and it is on REPEAT at PPHQ…

Next EEK moment coming up. Simone discovered an album of previously unreleased Jeff Buckley recordings is set to hit the shops and you can listen to some of it here. Yes, that’s JEFF BUCKLEY people.

And then Francesca found Adele singing Lionel Ritchie’s HELLO backed by The Roots playing classroom instruments including a banana maraca and a kazoo. Ok, so it was Adele’s HELLO, but still, fun times.

Happy banana maraca filled weekends one and all.
