It’s now two whole weeks since our beloved associate director Sean disappeared off to Cardiff to rehearse GROWTH with student at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. So, as Sean kicks off into week three of rehearsals we thought it was about time for a top tip from his time in Cardiff. Welsh adventurers pay attention.

Where: Y Mochyn Du

Actually where:  Sophia Close, Cardiff, CF11 9HW

Why we love it: A proper welsh pub in the centre of Cardiff.

The atmosphere was electric watching the Wales vs. Ireland match here last weekend. Packed in elbow to elbow, pints flowing, a live chorus of Calon Lân on repeat, roars at Leigh Halfpenny’s kicking skills, a man standing on the bar topless shouting ‘Cymru!’ at regular intervals and a girl with a dragon painted on her face vomming in a bin well before half time.

The perfect place to watch the Rugby bar the Millennium Stadium.

Croeso i’r Cymru. Croeso i’r Y Mochyn Du.

Honourable mentions: Chapter Arts Centre,Waterloo Teahouse and Milgi’s Vegetarian Restaurant.
